Measuring Arrows Correctly Measuring Arrows Correctly
We measure arrows according to the Standard AMO (ATA) recommendations.  This is from the groove of the nock (where the string sits in the nock) to then end of the insert, as shown below.  Do not include the point in this measurement.  If you are purchasing an arrow that uses outserts, allow extra length so that the outsert does not come in contact with your rest at full draw.
Measuring Arrow Length Diagram

We recommend adding 1" or more to the length of the nock groove to the point where the arrow contacts the rest.  This is a safety recommendation, and also will allow for a small draw length increase.  If you are a beginning archer and think your draw length could change more than 1/2", add 2 or 3 inches to your measurement.  You can always have them recut later.

Our custom arrows are not returnable, so make sure you measure correctly the first time.
