Piston Point Broadheads are engineered to out-perform all other archery products. With a compact, in-flight diameter of .55", our aerodynamic stainless steel tip cuts through the air with field tip precision. This eliminates the need to adjust sight pins, which is the most common complaint of mechanical and fixed broadheads - especially with bows that shoot over 300 fps. Powered by Patented Hammer Impact Rear Blade Expansion
On impact, the rear cylinder carries all of the shaft's powerful inertia forward and throws the blades fully open into a locked position. Our patented Lock Blade System guarantees the blades will stay at a 1.5" cutting diameter. The cylinder then hammers the tip into the target for ultimate penetration! This results in much larger entry and exit holes, better blood trails, and higher game recovery.
Angled shots is another area where Piston Point gives hunters a distinct advantage. Most mechanical broadheads can deflect on angled shots, meaning poor penetration or missing vital organs. Our patented Hammer-Impact Rear Blade Expansion assures Piston Point Broadheads will enter the target without deflection. This means your arrow will enter the target exactly where you aim, resulting in better penetration and more target damage.
To assure that Piston Point Broadheads work with all arrow sizes and all poundages of bows and crossbows, we use a small flex-band to hold the blades in the closed position. This flex-band is very easy to attach to the small notch on the backside of each blade, and is then safely protected behind the blades. When in flight, the flex-band holds the razor sharp blades tightly against the rear cylinder. As the broadhead touches the target, the flex-band expands as the blades open into their locked position. When the broadhead penetrates the target, the flex-band is pushed back by the hair of the animal or the target itself, and rolls off of the blade notches and slides onto the shaft. These flex-bands can be reused if they are not damaged. Every retail pack includes 9 flex-bands in case one is lost or broken after extensive shooting into targets.
Piston Point Broadheads are made from superior components. The tip, shaft, insert and blades are forged from solid stainless steel that is heat treated to an ideal hardness. Each broadhead has three blades with a thickness of .039, making them one of the heaviest and most durable blades in the industry. And unlike some mechanical broadheads, the blades on Piston Point broadheads will stay where they belong both in-flight and when placed in a quiver.
